Acne is a skin problem that starts when oil and dead skin cells clog up your pores. When you have just a few red spots or pimples, you have a mild form of acne. Severe acne can mean hundreds of pimples (blackheads, blemishes, whiteheads) that can cover the face, neck, chest and back. Acne can also be big, solid cystic bumps that are painful.
Acne is very common among teens but many adults also suffer from adult onset acne, as a result of hormones and right before menstrual periods.
